37 The Story of the Generous Widow (Luke 21)

Once upon a time, there was a widow living in a small village. This widow was very poor and had very little money. But despite her difficult situation, she was known for her generosity and kind heart.

One day, the widow heard that Jesus was in town. She had heard about Jesus and his teachings on love and compassion. The widow knew that Jesus was special, and she wanted to see him and give him something, even if her gift was small.
\n\n
That morning, the widow checked her purse and found two copper coins, the only ones she had. Although they were of little value, they were all she had. She decided to take those two coins to the temple and put them in the offering box.

When she arrived at the temple, she saw many wealthy people giving large sums of money. The widow looked at her two small copper coins and felt that they were insignificant compared to the offerings of others. But she knew that what mattered was not the amount, but the love and sincerity with which it was given.

The widow approached the offering box, took her two coins, and gently placed them in the box. She looked up and said a small prayer in her heart, asking God to bless her modest offerings.

Jesus, who was watching the crowd give their offerings, noticed the widow and her two copper coins. He said to his disciples, "Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put in more than all the others. All these people gave their gifts out of their wealth; but she out of her poverty put in all she had to live on."

The widow had given all she had, no matter that it was only two copper coins. Her act of generosity touched the heart of Jesus and taught everyone that what truly matters is sincerity and the willingness to give, not the amount.
