25 Jesus Walks on Water (Matthew 14)

When Jesus walked among us, he was a wise and kind teacher who taught people about the love and compassion of God. People followed him everywhere to hear his words and witness his miracles.

One day, after teaching the crowd, Jesus needed a moment of peace and solitude, so he sent his disciples in a boat to cross the lake. He stayed behind to pray and reflect.

While the disciples were in the boat, a storm began to rage on the lake. The waves were high, and the wind was blowing fiercely. The disciples struggled to keep the boat under control and were afraid of shipwrecking in the midst of the storm.
\n\n
While they were in the midst of the tempest, they saw something astounding on the water. Jesus was walking on the waves towards them. The disciples were frightened at first and thought it was a ghost, but Jesus said to them, "It is I; do not be afraid!"

Peter, one of the disciples, was filled with amazement and courage. He asked Jesus, "Lord, if it is you, command me to come to you on the water." Jesus nodded and told Peter to come.

With faith in his heart, Peter stepped out of the boat and began to walk on the water towards Jesus. As long as he kept his eyes on Jesus, everything was fine. But when Peter looked at the turbulent waves and felt the strong wind, he began to be afraid and to sink.

Immediately, Peter cried out, "Lord, save me!" Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. Together, they walked back to the boat. When they got into the boat, the storm miraculously calmed, and peace returned to the lake.

The disciples were amazed and realized that Jesus was truly the Son of God. Their faith had been tested in the midst of the storm, but Jesus was always there to save them when they needed him.
