One day, Elijah felt that his time on earth was coming to an end, and God gave him an important mission. He had to choose a young and faithful man to be his successor, someone who would continue his work as a prophet.

Elijah found a young man named Elisha working in the field. Elisha dropped everything he was doing and joined Elijah, accepting God's call to become his disciple. Together, they traveled the country, preaching the word of God and performing miracles.

A special day arrived when God decided to take Elijah to heaven in a remarkable way. Elijah and Elisha were near a river when suddenly a chariot of fire descended from the sky, pulled by horses of fire. Elijah was taken to heaven in a whirlwind and was last seen by Elisha.

Elisha was amazed by his master's departure but knew it was God's will. He picked up Elijah's fallen mantle and returned to the Jordan River. When he arrived at the river, he did something incredible. He struck the water with Elijah's mantle, and the river divided, allowing him to cross on dry land.

Elisha continued his master's work, performing miracles and sharing God's word with the people. God gave him twice the prophetic power that Elijah had, and he became a powerful and respected prophet.
